This Chicago Day Party Was Basically the Best Throwback Playlist Come to Life
Dynasty Entertainment’s REUNION connected the past, present and future of Filipino American music with Jocelyn Enriquez, KAI, Fast Eddie, Warren Rigg and more
On Sunday, August 10, 2025, Dynasty Entertainment threw the kind of party that proves some things really do get better with age. REUNION: A Dynasty Homecoming celebrated 25 years since the crew’s first old-school dance party, and Joe’s Live in Rosemont turned into a time machine of beats, ballads, and body rolls.
The sold-out crowd showed up ready to relive mixtape-era magic. DJs D Double, Erge, Vince and Vergil Magsino, JayFunk, BoyWonder, RexJ, KidKris, Goldenchild, and father-son duo Aris and Artie Topacio kept the floor hot with a perfect rotation of 80s, 90s, and Y2K hits. It was like flipping through the best parts of your burned CDs, but with the bass shaking the walls.
The Pacifics opened with a sharp set of hip-hop flows, then local favorite Warren Rigg had the room belting karaoke-style along to Filipino ballads. The night’s first plot twist came from Chicago house legend Fast Eddie, who popped in unannounced to perform “Booty Call.” Let’s just say the crowd didn’t need much encouragement to turn the dance floor into a scene straight out of Soul Train.

Then came the icons. Jocelyn Enriquez, the undisputed “Freestyle Queen” and first Filipina American solo artist signed to a major label, reminded everyone why her hits still slap decades later. When “Do You Miss Me” dropped, phones were in the air and voices were loud. Closing the show was KAI, the first Filipino American male R&B group to land a major label deal. Back in Chicago for the first time in 15 years, they crooned “Say You’ll Stay,” handed out roses, and gave fans the kind of nostalgia that leaves goosebumps.

But the night wasn’t just about reliving the glory days. Dynasty Entertainment used the celebration to raise money for two organizations close to the community: the AC Lorenzo Music Scholarship Fund and Bata Sole.
If you grew up on 90s R&B, you know AC Lorenzo. He was the founding member of KAI, the Filipino American group that made history by signing to a major label and giving us hits like “Say You’ll Stay.” AC passed away in 2017, but his impact lives on through the AC Lorenzo Music Scholarship Fund, which helps aspiring Filipino American musicians chase their dreams while keeping his legacy alive.
Combining their efforts with Chicago-born nonprofit Bata Sole was also a no-brainer. Bata Sole has one mission: to make sure no kid grows up barefoot. After seeing children in Pangasinan, Philippines playing basketball without shoes, the founders started collecting sneakers. That single pair snowballed into thousands, with Bata Sole now delivering athletic shoes, baseball cleats, and everyday kicks to underserved youth across our motherland. They host shoe restoration workshops, partner with schools, and sell merch where every dollar circles back to future donations.

What Dynasty Entertainment created wasn’t just a concert. It was a reunion in every sense: families, friends, and whole generations coming together under one roof. The event spotlighted Filipino American artists who smashed through barriers in the 90s and 2000s while showing younger fans where the culture’s roots run deep.
It was nostalgic, yes. But it was also a reminder that Filipino American music history isn’t just something to celebrate during Heritage Months, it’s a daily living legacy still unfolding, one scholarship and one pair of sneakers at a time.
And finally, when the lights came up and the last beats faded, the energy lingered. People left with more than just sore feet from dancing. They left knowing their tickets helped fund music scholarships and provide shoes for kids thousands of miles away.
As one attendee put it, the night felt like “a homecoming where the music connected us, but the cause gave us purpose.”
Dynasty Entertainment’s REUNION proved that a party can be both a trip down memory lane and a step toward a brighter future. And honestly, what better way to celebrate 25 years than with a soundtrack that still makes you move and a mission that makes it matter.
